Special HALALOWEEN program Thurs. Oct 31st 2013

Salaamun alaikum

The Madressa, in combination with the Jamaat, is planning to hold our 2nd special Halaloween program this Thurs. Oct 31st at the IHS Centre for children and youth to get them to come to the centre and do some fun Islamic things- rather than go out door-to-door trick-or-treating!!

The program will begin at 7:45pm with the Thursday night recitation of Surah Yaseen, Dua Kumayl,  a short talk on Halloween by Shaykh Saleem Bhimji, and then we will have some fun activities for everyone to do.  The younger children from ages 3-8 yrs will have various activities in the library and kitchen to do, and the children ages 9 and up will have an Islamic Jeopardy game in the main hall.

After the program, the kids will all get treat bags filled with fun things and snacks. However for this program, we need lots of volunteers to help out.

We need people for the following:

-someone to donate and bring some snacks for the kids, such as a fruit drink, fruit snack, chips, chocolate, etc.  ( pls share any ideas)
-some people to help pack up the treats for the kids in brown bags at the Centre
-some to help out with the crafts for the younger kids to do
-help in cleaning up

Any other ideas or suggestions on how we can make this a fun evening would be greatly appreciated.

If you are able to help out with this event, then please email us back at this address, or email Sr. Zainab Amiri directly at zainab.amiri@hotmail.com or Sr. Arifa Hudda at arifahudda@rogers.com as soon as possible, so we can proceed with the arrangements for this program, and in which area you can commit to help out.

Kids can "dress up" with their nice clothes on as we will also be marking the Eid-e-Mubahela,, however NO Halloween outfits, costumes or masks are allowed.

wasalam
