Groundbreaking Ceremony
On September 17th, 2017, we held a groundbreaking ceremony at the new centre's location. Our community members, neighbours and MPP's joined us to mark this fundamental first step towards our new building's construction. We shared more information on our project, then gave everyone the chance to take a shovel and break into the ground.

Starting at the far right are (now former) MPP Daiene Vernile; Kathryn McGarry, president of the Ontario Liberal Party; and Ms. Elizabeth Clarke, the (now former) Chief Executive Officer of YWCA Kitchener-Waterloo.

From right to left is Les Armstrong, former Mayor of the Wilmot Township; Harold Albrecht, former MP; Ken Seiling, former Regional Chair of the Municipality of Waterloo; Dave Jaworsky, former mayor of waterloo; and Kevin Chalk, former WPRS Deputy Chief.
